에버노트 PC 그리고 Web버젼, 폰트 호환문제

나는 6년째 에버노트 프리미엄 유저다.

모든 계획의 기본 저장소 시스템이 에버노트 기반이고, 하루하루 기록들을 남기는 제 2의 두뇌 역할을 하고 있다.

주로 PC버젼을 사용하지만 에버노트 웹사이트에 맛을 들인 이후로는 웹페이지에서 바로 작성하는 것을 선호한다. (크롬에서 접속하면 Grammarly extension에서 오타를 잡아주기 때문)

하지만 치명적인 단점이 있는데, 그것은 폰트 호환문제!

에버노트 웹버전에서 기본 글씨체가 Gotham에 사이즈가 14로 되어 있는데, 이 기본폰트 셋팅을 수정할 수가 없다. 일일이 손으로 글씨체를 바꾼 다음 글을 써야 한다.

하지만 이걸 에버노트 PC버젼에서 열어보면 본인이 설정한 기본폰트 (PC버젼은 기본폰트 설정이 가능하다) 에 사이즈10으로 보인다.

PC버젼에서 폰트 10으로 작성한 글 역시 웹버젼에서 확인하면 폰트 14로 보이는 것이다.

웹버젼에서 제공하는 글씨체 또한 제한적이다. 

1. Gotham 
2. Geogia
3. Helvertica
4. Courier New
5. Times New Roman
6. Trebuchet
7. Verdana

이렇게 딱 7개인데, 이 중 위에 3가지는 PC버젼에는 없는 글씨체이다.

즉,

웹버젼에서 글을 작성하고 PC버젼에서 확인하려면, 4~7번 글씨체로 14폰트로 작성을 해야

같은 글씨체로 폰트10을 기대할 수 있는 것이다.

이게 뭔가?

호환성이 최대 무기인 에버노트에서 이런 기본적인 글씨체나 글자크기를 맞춰 놓지 않다니. 믿을 수가 없다.

그래서 처음으로 에버노트 본사에 기술지원을 보내게 된다.

글씨체 변환 케이스도 여러개 만들고 캡쳐해서 보냈는데, 언제 결과가 올지 기대된다.

우선 구리지만 Times New Roman 에 사이즈 14를 써야겠다. 글자 크기 줄어드는건 정말 읔이다.

Text format is not same between two same note generated by "Evernote PC" and "Evernote web".

While I try various font sync test between two evernotes tools, I have realized this is because of that there are only 7 fonts in "Evernote web" as follows, however, three fonts (Gotham, Geogia and Helvertica) does not exist in "Evernote PC".

Not only the font style issue, but also the size is changed from 10 in pc to 14 in Evernote web ver. in basic font. The confusing thing is that it does not exact formular of the font size chage as shown in the following table.

Multi platform is the biggest strength of the evernote, HOWEVER, this situation is not so cool.

I think the solution to solve this font compatibility issue is that to make the same font for two platforms and also make an option for setting the font on the Evernote web version.

#Steps to reproduce

1. Create a note from "Evernote PC" (Basic font setting is "Tahoma, 10" )

2. Open the website "Evernote.com" (There is no font setting on the web)

3. Check the fonts shown on the "Evernote web"

4. Font style and size are different!
